There is no doubt there will be a compromise to the sequester question this Friday. Why? Even both parties know even the politically docile and uninspired general citizenry won’t put up with the already anemically-performing Congress. And, let’s be honest...the agreement is all about 2014 mid-terms and not what’s best for the nation.
I mentioned this morning that I am not a partisan voter. I am not registered to a political party. Because, party politics are at the heart of what politically ails us.
Divisiveness, self-preservation and promotion, winning at all costs, etc...are all a manifestation of divided political parties. So, why perpetuate that what is our core problem?
The Oscars were a blast last night. The music. The humor...okay....the MUSIC!
No real dramatic surprises. But, I loved Christoph Waltz winning for “Django...”
He is a true talent and what a great choice. What’s her name fell down on the way up...everybody’s talking about that. Is it just me, or does Anne Hathaway look a little...weird? Facially, I mean. I’m not one to talk, I know, but she just, ummm...anyway....Hugh Jackman can SING! What a waste to have the Avengers on stage...And who was the guy who didn’t say a word? I missed the Bond men. Damn.
But, Shirley Bassie belting out “Goldfinger”...that was a HIGHLIGHT! Seth McFarlane did a pretty good job...a bit too raunchy, but not as sanctimonious as some of the acceptance speeches. It’s another year in the can and not too bad, Peter.
