Aloha one and all,

The sequester is about to hit and the world will continute to turn, waters will run and the sun will shine.  I know media and politicians will tell you the absolute worst scenarios will occur and, yes, there will be some who will definitely feel the effects.  But, at the end of the proverbial day, I hope all will realize that if a finger is being pointed, I hope the president takes his and directs it at himself.  He is responsible for sequestration..not Congress and certainly not the GOP.  Why is this reality under or rarely reported?  I know you know and I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Rep. Faye Hanohano in the Hawaii House of Representatives has really put her poi in it this time.  The Native Hawaiian politician hurled a slew of racially-charged insults while inelegantly expressing her displeasure with a selection of artwork for her office.  Invoking pejoratives like "Haole", "Jap" and "Pake", she really let loose.  But, the most disturbing part of the story is her threat to use her office to cut funding for the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts since they had the audacity to select artwork created by non-Native Hawaiian artists.  Any elected official who uses their office as a literal bully pulpit should be summarily dismissed on the grounds of abuse of power.

She fails to realize that the consituents in her Big Island district sent here there and taxpayers pay her salary, benefits and perks.  How about some color by the numbers from your staff?  Elected in 2006, Rep. Hanohano has done us a service.  She has revealed her true sentiment regarding those of a particular background.. many of whom live in the area.  I can only imagine how chilly it may be if you run into her at Big Save.
