"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have
sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any
who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."
George Washington, 1790
The situation that has developed in Egypt is a case study of the inadequacies found in the Obama administration.
It’s absurd that under the president’s watch we have seen the devolution of one of the most stable, albeit imperfect, governments in the Middle East.
And, it’s obvious that then Sec. of State Hilary Clinton has her hands all over this trying and difficult scenario. This should serve as a reminder of HER expertise in
Foreign Policy when she seeks you vote in 2016.
The dial up, which some of you may actually still have, was great back in it’s day. I remember booking all of our honeymoon reservations on a 200mhz CPU with a massive CRT display with that familiar sound of dial-up. I booked us an adventure that took us to Paris and all around France. It was exciting to put the itinerary together....the flights, hotel, attractions, etc... There was bit of panic when I was logged on while making a payment and then the connection was lost. I thought my credit card info in cyberspace was doomed. Fortunately, I re-connected and everything was fine. But, what really stood out was just how long it all took. Oh man! Waiting. And waiting. And WAITING. It took forever.
Fast forward to today and there are several options to choose from that has made online experiences so very much better. We upgraded to Oceanic Cable Turbo Internet just after the first of the year. It’s magnificent. I am online most of the day and into the evening because of my business. If I didn’t have Turbo speed at home, I’d would literally be wasting irretrievable time. And, believe me, it adds up. You can have the most reliable and fasted internet, too, with Oceanic Cable. Just log on to www.oceanic.com and you’ll enjoy the difference, too.
Zack took a spill on his Razor late yesterday which took us to the ER. X-rays did not show a clean break, but there's a possibility of a hairline fracture. We find out on Monday. But, as you can see, he took the whole thing in stride!
This is a good time to update you on what we’re doing here on KHVH in the mornings.
Monday is a great day since we start with Chris Coughlin from www.duffysoapbox.com. His insight and intelligence is so appreciated and I urge you to make this segment
A destination every Monday.
Tuesday at 7A is reserved for Dr. Panos Prevedourous, Civil Engineering professor at UH. Panos has been a part of this show from before the days of his Mayoral candidacy.
The discussion focuses on our infrastructure and integrity of our City. However, we delve into a myriad of topicality from cars to international economics. Don’t miss it!
Wednesdays at 9 feature a once a month visit from Tito Montes and the Hawaii Republican Assembly. Local political issues and national observations are the hallmark of our
Conversations. Let me assure you, you will not be bored! Tito is brash and outspoken and I appreciate his passion and presentation on the air.
Thursdays at 7A...Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa takes your calls on DC centric topics and at 8A, Anneke Green of The White House Writers Group and www.rare.us. Her
Contribution is tremendous and I love our discussions from the viewpoint of an insider (she’s a former speechwriter for President Bush 43).
Our Fridays have become something else in the 9A hour with “The Goodfellas” The premise is you get three guys with a glass of wine and you start...talking. It’s such fun to hear
The different views on topics from favorite bands to supply side economics. It’s a great way to end the week and start the weekend.
So, come on over to the Rick Hamada Program on KHVH AM 830. There’s a little bit of everything for everyone!
I’m the Tournament Director for the Easter Seals Golf Classic. It seems that I’m online just about every waking moment to coordinate all aspects of one of the biggest charity golf tournaments in the state. Case in point...just about every email exchange I have has some sort of an attachment. When it comes time to open PDF’s, Excel Spreadsheets, graphics or video, I need the fastest service possible. If I had dial up or inferior wi-fi, I wouldn’t be able to do the job I need to do. The lack of productivity would be devastating, but my frustration level would be through the ROOF!! Thankfully, I use Oceanic Turbo Internet service and it’s always fast and always dependable. I am sure with all that you do for fun or for profit, you want the most efficient and effective internet and online service. If you don’t have the best, then you’ve got to get it. Logon to www.oceanic.com and get the best internet service...anywhere.

I understand because I am one who usually raises them. One thing that seems on the wane is organized protest among the general public. The theory is that if you can bring 500 people to the Capitol then you can Defintely make a difference. I included a pic from a few years ago to accentuate the point that participation in events that put you in the Big Square Building Are valuable and do serve a purpose. I hope to see more public participation in the discourse. Soon.
